Building Information Modeling (BIM)
Digitalised construction process
Bringing a construction project to life as a virtual twin during the planning stage: This is what BIM (Building Information Modeling) stands for. With BIM 5D®, we have created a BIM standard that can depict construction projects in particular detail and thus generate an enormous increase in safety. All project, planning and construction processes can be simulated and optimized using this building model.
All relevant data is stored for this purpose:
- Digitally recorded, combined and networked
- Visualized in virtual models
- Linked to simulations that show which materials are needed in which quantities at what time
BIM also helps to detect so-called collisions in the digital model. BIM model elements are checked for geometric overlaps, i.e. collisions.
Incidentally, our smart BIM in TEAMCONCEPT is called BIM 5D®. It stands for a 3D model + time (4D) + process data (5D).
Requirements:
- Construction site-based hardware such as BIM access points.
- Applications from software providers such as Autodesk, Bentley Systems, Nemetschek Group, Tekla/Trimble Solutions and others.
