The three office buildings on the H3ö Campus protect the environment and resources in different ways. MONA - the monolithic, is a brick building. Thanks to its 50 cm thick brick façade, no further insulation is required, which saves resources during construction and later operation of the building. The CLEO building - the green building - has a CO2-reduced construction with a green façade. Both buildings offer roof terraces with extensive greenery and the necessary infrastructure for outdoor working. The third office building, WOODY - the wooden one, is designed as a timber hybrid building. Construction will start at a later date.
Each office building will be cooled and heated exclusively with its own ice storage system. In cooperation with the energy company Avacon Natur (part of the E.ON Group), the ice storage technology will be used for resource-saving heating and cooling during building operation. The ice storage system dispenses with fossil fuels such as oil or gas and uses renewable energy sources instead. This makes the innovative heating and cooling supply at H3ö self-sufficient and environmentally friendly.
